The Author - Shuichi Iwami

Born in Hiroshima City in 1971. In 2001, he attended a music festival in Austin, Texas—one of America's premier music cities—an experience that left him deeply moved and inspired. Since then, each visit to the city brought him into close connection with local musicians. He eventually began assisting with their tours in Japan, a dedication for which he received an official certificate of appreciation from the City of Austin. This profound journey inspired him to begin writing about his personal experiences in Austin. In 2020, he provided the Japanese subtitles for Duct Tape Messiah, the acclaimed documentary film on singer-songwriter Blaze Foley. He released his debut book, Mighty Fine, Mighty Shine, in its Japanese edition last autumn, followed by the English edition in January 2026.
